Botanical Description
Dionysia haussknechtii 2000
Forming dense, efarinose cushions. Stems short branched, becoming woody, contorted and leafless below, covered above with marcescent leaves, forming columns. Leaves oblong, 2.5-4mm long, 0.8-1.5mm wide, covered in minute glandular hairs. Flowers solitary, sessile. Corolla yellow, tube 15mm long, limb 6-7mm in diameter. Originally discovered in 1895 but not introduced into cultivation until 1998-2002 from several collections, all from 2260-2500m on Ghadee Kuh near Shoul Abad, Lorestan Province, western Iran.
